Welcome to secuRIT at Ramaiah Institute of Technology

This preamble outlines the principles, rules, and expectations that guide our members in the responsible and ethical use of knowledge within the realm of cybersecurity. By joining this club, members commit to upholding these values to create a positive, collaborative, and learning-focused environment.

1. Membership Eligibility:

  • secuRIT is open to all students of Ramaiah Institute of Technology who share an interest in cybersecurity.
  • Members are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity and comply with the rules and regulations of the university.

2. Code of Conduct:

  • Members shall conduct themselves with professionalism and respect, fostering an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives.
  • Any form of harassment, discrimination, or disrespectful behavior is strictly prohibited and may result in expulsion from the club.

3. Legal and Ethical Use:

  • Knowledge gained through secuRIT is to be used solely for legal, ethical, and educational purposes.
  • Unethical practices, including unauthorized access, hacking attempts, or any form of illegal activity, are strictly forbidden. If any unethical practice is found we are not responsible.

4. Learning Purpose Only:

  • The primary purpose of this club is educational. Members shall use acquired knowledge for ethical practices and continuous learning.
  • Engaging in any malicious activities that compromise security and privacy is strictly against the ethos of secuRIT.

5. Responsible Disclosure:

  • Members discovering vulnerabilities in systems or software are encouraged to follow responsible disclosure practices.
  • Reporting such vulnerabilities to the relevant parties demonstrates ethical behavior and a commitment to the responsible use of cybersecurity knowledge.

6. Collaborative Environment:

  • secuRIT values collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mutual support among its members.
  • Active participation in club activities, such as seminars, workshops, and competitions, is crucial for the collective growth of the club.

7. Faculty Advisor Guidance:

  • The club operates under the guidance of Dr. M.N. Thippeswamy. Members are encouraged to seek advice and support from the core members in all club-related matters.

8. Adherence to University Policies:

  • All activities conducted by secuRIT must comply with the policies and guidelines set forth by Ramaiah Institute of Technology.
  • Failure to adhere to university policies may result in disciplinary actions.

9. Non-Discrimination Policy:

  • secuRIT is committed to diversity and inclusion. Membership is open to all eligible students without discrimination.

10. Confidentiality:

  • Members shall respect the confidentiality of information shared within the club, including discussions, projects, and any sensitive or proprietary information.

11. Regular Attendance:

  • Regular attendance at club meetings, seminars, workshops, and other events is expected of all members.
  • Active participation contributes to the success of the club and enhances the learning experience for all members.

We expect each and every one of you to comply by the rules. Failure to do so might result in a permanent ban.
